Caenorhabditis elegans Panjang Umur Di Ruang

Jurnal KeSimpulan.com - Gen galatikum dalam cacing. Ketika anda pulang dari perjalanan ruang, orang lain hampir tidak bisa menebak usia Anda, setidaknya jika Anda cacing.

Perjalanan ruang membantu cacing panjang umur. Nematoda Caenorhabditis elegans yang mengorbit Bumi mengurangi tanda-tanda penuaan. Cacing kecil dan transparan yang menghabiskan 11 hari di Stasiun Antariksa Internasional setara dengan 16 tahun manusia di Bumi.

Pertambahan usia jauh lebih lambat dibanding cacing di Bumi. Kebalikan dengan pengalaman luar angkasa manusia dan hewan lainnya.

Evolusi mamalia dan hewan lainnya termasuk manusia terprogram secara fisiko dalam adaptasi bandul gravitasi Bumi.

Dalam gayaberat mikro eksohabitasi membuat stres fisiologis. Gravitasi rendah menyebabkan atrofi otot dan penuaan berakselerasi.

Tetapi Caenorhabditis elegans di stasiun ruang mungkin di bawah tekanan, mereka tidak memiliki efek-efek samping. Kinerja otot tidak menurun dan gumpalan berhubungan dengan protein penuaan yang dikenal sebagai agregat Q35 tidak tertimbum sebanyak cacing di darat.

Cacing yang mengunjungi stasiun ruang angkasa ini segera dibekukan setelah kembali ke Bumi. Yoko Honda, genomikawan Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology di Tokyo, dan rekan menunjukkan cacing di ruang angkasa tidak menua secepat cacing yang hidup di Bumi.

Cacaing space faring memiliki aktivitas lebih rendah 199 gen termasuk 11 gen yang terlibat dalam transmisi informasi melalui sistem saraf atau endokrin. Tujuh dari 11 gen tersebut terlibat langsung dalam efek awet muda.

Mengurangi aktivitas gen gar-3, cha-1 dan SHK-1 menurunkan jumlah protein rumpun Q35. Juga Gen-gen penyandi protein yang diproduksi dalam sistem saraf dan 2 penyandi protein yang dibuat di otot. Menurunkan kadar protein ini membuat nematoda mengurangi metabolisme dan memperpanjang masa hidup.
